Gate Valves

A gate valve is essentially utilised for one of two purposes – to totally block the flow of a fluid or allow a fluid to flow completely in a pipeline. Thus, gate valves are used only in the fully open or fully closed positions. These devices consist of a stem or shaft, which can be rotated through a spindle. The gate, which is fastened by threads, opens up when the shaft is rotated, allowing fluids to pass through it. Conversely, the gate may be closed to obstruct fluid flow, as required. The shaft needs to be rotated at more than 360 degrees for the gate to open completely. Gate valves lend themselves best to the pipeline industry, where the direction of fluid is not constant. This is because valves permit dual-way flowing of fluids, so they can be easily manipulated to block or allow fluid flow based on specific requirements.

Brosco manufactures superior-quality gate valves that can be handled easily, without requiring a technical background.

Gate Valves | Casting

Gate valve casting ensures that fluids flow only in the desired direction. Steel gate valve castings are used for water, air, oil, gas, steam, and non-acidic fluids and are important to prevent backflow. Basically, molten metal – such as bronze, stainless steel, or bronze – is poured into a mould, which is typically designed from ceramic, sand, or investment casting materials.

Gate Valves | Forging

Forging is a technique used to shape metals and alloys when they are solid. This process is used to design forged gate valves. Here, all the valve parts are forged to create sturdy, resistant, heavy-duty valves that last long and fulfill their intended functions effectively.
