These cylindrical valves are mainly used in the pipeline industry to regulate the flow of fluids. The globe valve is segregated into two parts by an internal baffle. It consists of a disc, which may be moved using a shaft to open or close the valve. These valves are called globe valves owing to a globe-like cavity that forms around the port area. There are three main types of globe valve – T-type globe valves, angle globe valves and Y-pattern globe valves. T-type globe valves are the most common ones and have horizontally placed seats. These are typically used when there is no problem of pressure decreases. Angle globe valves are similar to T-type globe valves, but they have right-angled ends, which allow fluids to flow in a single perpendicular turn. It is used in instances characterized by a throbbing flow. Finally, Y-pattern globe valves are usually found in places with frequent pressure drops. Here, the seat and shaft are built perpendicularly, at an angle of 45 degrees to each other.
Casting of globe valves is primarily carried out in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and chemical sectors. Casting of globe valves helps monitor the flow of fluids, so that they flow in one direction. It essentially ensures that fluid is diverted, regulated, or cut off to facilitate uniform flow and prevent backflow.

With this method, one can change the shape of metals and alloys when they are solid. This process is used to design forged globe valves. In this process, all the valve parts are forged to create sturdy, resistant, heavy-duty valves that last long and fulfill their intended functions effectively.
